Call for papers
Having emerged on the crossroads of philosophy, linguistics, logics, and other sciences, survived several “births” (Antiquity, the Modern Era, XIX century, and the middle of the XXth century), semiotics, however, was institutionalised only in the 60s of the XX century. Today “the science of signs” occupies a prominent place in the methodology of the humanities, especially in the media and communication studies, its conceptual instruments is actualised not only in social disciplines but also in the sphere of visual arts. Moreover, to a certain extent semiotics has become the language of the modern Theory: its “traces” are disseminated in various traditions and discourses.

The formatThe seminar will be designed as a two-days workshop that will include individual presentations on the problematics of semiotics’ institutionalisation, didactics, and teaching methodologies, as well as a round table on the certain methodological instruments (teaching methods, empirical and theoretical resources, research instruments) and the specificity of working in different educational contexts (a distant course, low-residence course, high-residence course) and for different audience (students of different specialisations, post-graduate students, etc.).
